The Price of Lies

Would you begin to fade if you were told
you wouldn’t live another day?
Whether or not true
the thought would fester in you
like coals to a flame that ignite conundrum

You search for a meaning beyond your demise
a bigger question
the price of lies
You wait for a fate
to come and erase
this death you created for yourself

As the light fades from your eyes
yourself you despise
because you couldn’t differentiate truth from lies
and now you pay the price-
your life.

Ripped from you as swiftly as it was given.
